Roald Dahl's Willy Wonka KIDS follows enigmatic candy manufacturer Willy Wonka as he stages a contest by hiding golden tickets in five of his scrumptious candy bars. Whomever comes up with these tickets will win a free tour of the Wonka factory, as well as a lifetime supply of candy. Four of the five winning children are insufferable brats, but the fifth is a likeable young lad named Charlie Bucket, who takes the tour in the company of his equally amiable grandfather. The children must learn to follow Mr. Wonka's rules in the factory — or suffer the consequences.

Join Junie B. on her first day of first grade, where many changes are in store: Junie's best friend Lucille has found new best friends -— and Junie B. makes friends with Herb, the new kid at school. While in Mr. Scary's class, Junie has trouble reading the blackboard — and she may need glasses. Add in a friendly cafeteria lady, an intense kickball tournament and a "Top-Secret Personal Beeswax Journal," and first grade has never been more exciting.

REHEARSALS: Weekdays between 8pm and 10pm SHOW DATES: August 13th at 7pm August 14th at 2pm and 7pm August 15th at 2pm Rain Dates the week following. at Madison's Memorial Field 65 Rosedale Avenue TUITION FEE: $415/student Financial Aid Available! Heir to the Frankish throne, the young prince Pippin is in search of the secret to true happiness and fulfillment. He seeks it in the glories of the battlefield, the temptations of the flesh and the intrigues of political power (after disposing of his father, King Charlemagne the Great). In the end, though, Pippin finds that happiness lies not in extraordinary endeavors, but rather in the unextraordinary moments that happen every day.
Equally poignant as a black box production or as a splashy, spectacle-driven extravaganza, Pippin's message is universal and will connect with audiences across the age spectrum. |
All of our summer programs will be COVID-compliant with all social distancing rules in place. All rehearsals, performances, and other production needs will be held safely outdoors in our special outdoor studio, complete with hardwood dance flooring. All choreography and blocking of the show will adhere to current NJ COVID guidelines. Auditions for ALL productions will be held via video submission and will be due May 1st by 11:59pm.
Students must choose their own song in the style of the show they will be auditioning for. Please do not sing from the show - instead find a song that alludes to the character you want to audition for. You will need to provide your own backing track for your video audition. Audition cuts should be one minute in length.
Below is a list which might help guide you in your decision to choose a song. This is just a guide - feel free to choose something not on this list.

Once you've chosen your audition cut, you will need to tape yourself singing the song. We will be evaluating your auditions based not only on singing and acting (performance ability) but also the success of your self-tape.
- Is the frame catching from your chest to your head?
- Are you against a blank wall?
- Can we hear your voice clearly over the music?
- Do you look neat and presentable?
- Do you introduce yourself and the song you are singing?
We want to help prepare you for this new world of virtual theatre. Research self-tape examples online or through friends. If you have questions on how to make your audition song and/or self-tape successful, don't hesitate to reach out to us (spotlightkidscompany@gmail.com). You have a month to work on perfecting your audition, so don't stress!

Please Note: Our summer program tuition will cost $415/student. This covers a show t-shirt, costumes, props, set building, and 75+ hours of instruction, both privately and in a group setting. As always, we do offer scholarships, payment plans, and family discounts. If this price jeopardizes your possible participation, please email us regarding financial aid.
