New Performers and Seasoned Pros...
Join us for our WINTER PRODUCTION!

Picture
Open to performers ages 4 years old to 6th Grade
Potential Performances
Friday, February 24th, at 7pm
Saturday, February 25th, at 2pm and 7pm
Sunday, February 26th, at 2pm and 7pm
Rehearsals are held TUESDAYS and THURSDAYS between 5:00pm and 7:00pm in Madison.
Performers will not be called the full time to every rehearsal.

Performers will also be required to attend mandatory technical rehearsals the week leading up to the show (February 17th-23rd). Conflicts will not be accepted for that week unless discussed in detail prior to auditions with the director.
Virtual Audition Submissions will be open until January 4th, 2023.

These productions are a commitment and require performers putting the show as a priority, especially in the last two weeks before the show. If you cannot be present for a majority of the rehearsal times above, we suggest taking our weekly CLASSES with our incredible staff of teachers! We have options for all students, and if you would like to discuss scheduling or classes, feel free to send an email to spotlightkidscompany@gmail.com.

Winter 2023 Audition Information

Selecting an Audition Song

Filming Your Audition

Finishing
Touches

Performers get to select any song they would like to sing for their audition. Choose a song that is in the musical theatre or pop style, and make sure it showcases YOU! You may select a song from the show. We suggest exploring at the following options:
  • Disney Musicals
  • Matilda
  • Annie
  • Dear Edwina
  • Junie B Jones the Musical
Once you've chosen a song, identify one minute of the song you'd like to film. You are also responsible for finding a backing karaoke track to work with. Check Youtube or PianoTrax for help with a track. Once you know your one minute cut of your song, it's time to practice until you are ready to film!
  1. Film LANDSCAPE (horizontally).
  2. Use two devices to film - one to play your backing karaoke track and one to film with.
  3. Wear a formal outfit and look your best. Try to avoid crazy patterned clothes or looking disheveled. This may be our first impression of you!
  4. Use a plain background with no distractions.
  5. Introduce yourself with your full name, your age/grade, and what song you will be singing.
  6. Film your song a few times and find the take you are happiest with! Don't worry... there will be bloopers.
  7. Upload your final take to YouTube as an unlisted or private link - then take your link and paste it into the box in the Audition Form.
Once you have your perfect audition video uploaded to YouTube, it's time to submit your audition form! Fill out all of the details in the form below, including your conflicts for the summer. Don't forget to put your  YouTube link (set to public or unlisted) in the correct box.
Audition forms MUST be submitted by September 20th, 2022 at 11:59pm.

Once you click submit, your audition process is finished! We will email you back to confirm that your audition was received and that your video works. If you don't receive an email within 48 hours, please reach out to spotlightkidscompany@gmail.com.

    Audition Form

Auditions close WEDNESDAY, JANUARY 4th, 2023 at 11:59pm.

Please note that there will be a tuition fee of approx $450 charged for all materials and time. If needed, we offer partial scholarships and payment plans. We do not want financial issues to deter your participation, so please reach out if you have any questions or concerns!
Please upload your AUDITION SUBMISSION to YouTube as a PUBLIC or UNLISTED video.
STUDENT AGREEMENT: By electronically signing (typing my name below), I am agreeing to play any role assigned to me without complaint. I will accept any costume, line or solo changes as given by the director. I am also agreeing to attend all rehearsals and performances UNLESS my conflicts are previously communicated. I will attend rehearsal when called and I will come prepared. I vow to be a respectful, kind, and dedicated cast member.
PARENT AGREEMENT: By electronically signing (typing my name below), I am agreeing to support my child's involvement in this production. I understand the commitments required for my child to participate in this SKC musical, including attendance at all rehearsals and performances, ensuring tuition is paid, and any communication required throughout the process. I understand and respect the director's choices and agree to support the production as best I can.
Please give your weekly recurring and one-time conflicts, Monday-Sunday from today until the performances. Although we understand that conflicts arise, please understand that the addition of many conflicts could jeopardize a performer's role. Rehearsal schedules will be created in relation to the conflicts we are given, and conflicts DO sometimes play a role in the part you are given. However, this being said, be honest about your conflicts! Please be willing to dedicate time to our show - we don't have a lot of time to make this happen, so we want our performers to be dedicated and committed to creating the best product.
